April was a lot of fun!
Here is just a little recap of our families month.
First and foremost the kids were sick almost the entire month. Bad coughs flying around, kleenex everywhere! Even on Easter, the little one’s were so sick. This made me question how well I was actually cleaning our home. My weekly cleaning routine needed to be more thorough. So I tweaked up my cleaning routine just a little. I am now using the stronger cleaners more often, and at better times, so they do not interfere with the children’s health, and so I am not nauseous for the rest of the day after I am done with a full day of cleaning.
These are the only cleaning products I will be using in my home. Ever since I have implemented my new routine, the kids have actually started feeling better. The Lysol is one of the most important ones up there! Spray every door knob and cabinet, everywhere that gets a lot of attention from little fingers, that’s my advice. For those of you who hate to clean baseboards, I have a little trick for you. Grab a bucket fill it up with hot water and pour in the Murphy’s Oil. Use this to wipe down all of the baseboards in your home. This shines them up and makes the next wipe down a lot quicker!
Easter was at our house for the first time!
If you follow along at all you will see that I am all about the holidays. Anything that gives me a reason to decorate or bake is my jam! I’ve always been this way, thanks to my mother. She always made such a huge deal when it came to any holiday. For that, I thank you, mom! My mother made a comment about having Easter with us, she said she really enjoyed being able to eat and enjoy the day without all of the clean up left over for her to do. That made me smile. After all the things she’s done for me I’m happy that I made her day!
The baby is growing up so fast!
He is 20 months already! I’m not sure that I like how fast he is growing up! He is starting to get quite the personality. Showing interest in so many things. He has an opinion now and I love it! Here are a few of his favorite toys. Notice the cleaning photo, that’s still his favorite toy. He drags that out of his room at least 5 times a day. He’s like his mommy! 😍
At 20 months he’s into bowling he loves cleaning and his little Paw Patrol stackable set. He’s so intrigued on how they all fit right into the other! These were the top 4 toys of April. Big brother Max (7) plays right along. He manages to avoid the cleaning though! Max put together his brand new water table this afternoon! Oops, I almost forgot to tell you about the ATV, he just jumped right on and zoom! The only problem is putting a helmet on his head. He refuses to let me put it on him. He shakes his head back and forth crying. This isn’t good…. I’d love any ideas or tips for how to introduce a helmet to a toddler.
Jacob’s best friend.
This is what I walked into after nap time. My first reaction was like “oh no, that is not safe” but I realized that the cat was perfectly content so Jacob must have been being a good boy. They basically have grown up together. So precious! This cat is as gentle as they come.
Teach your kids about online predators!
Max had a horrible experience this past month that hopefully was a huge lesson learned! My 7-year-old got scammed online. His belongings were taken from him and his entire account was deleted. This is a game he’s been playing for well over a year now. Hundreds of dollars had been invested in this game. It was a real wake-up call, let me tell ya! If you would like to read the full story, it’s all right here!
Overall it was a good month! This was fun. Doing an overall recap of life events that will always be stored online for me to look back on. To be completely honest, I wanted to do a calendar version of our month but I struggled with it. Maybe next month.
